365 Days of Happiness – The Happiness Advantage

Where do I begin with this first post?
Before I jump into my mission, a little personal background may be helpful.

I am a wife, a mother of 3, a full-time career women, an artist, an athlete, a creative soul, and someone that has always challenged herself to higher expectations. I’m always looking for bigger challenges and now at the age of 37

I’m in a self discovery mode. I’ve given thoughts to starting to learn to play guitar. I’ve quilted more than 10 quilts, and I’m training for a half marathon.

Get the picture? I’m an ambitious person by nature.

My day job is in the corporate world. Where we are challenged to empower ourselves as employees to raise to higher expectations in productivity, and look innovative ideas to get our business to the next level. In a discussion I had with a coworker she mentioned a book to me around how to drive happiness through our work.

This idea of happiness struck me. The first few pages of the book she mentioned challenged everything I knew to be true of how I was living. That’s when I knew it was time to focus on something different.

I’m starting this blog as a journey of happiness. What I know to be true is that happiness breeds happiness. You know those people in your life that are purely happy. Just talking to them is enlightening. That’s what I want to experience more of.

If you are interested in seeing how my journey plays out, or even what obstacles I face along the way. I invite you along for the ride. Just knowing some of my background and the demands that come with daily life, you should already know it’s not going to be easy. But here’s the thing, if you can experience a taste of happiness everyday and pass some of that along, aren’t we all better for having tried?
